โHave you done any revision?โ โI will.โ Then three days pass and nothing has moved.
In fifteen years of teaching this, I've noticed it's rarely about motivation. Most students don't know where to start. So they don't start at all.
This session fixes that in ninety minutes, live, with a plan they've built themselves.
This isn't a talk. It's ninety minutes of work.
Your teen joins live on Zoom with their subject list in front of them. I'll walk them through two things most students are never taught properly: how to spot which topics are costing them marks, and the difference between revision that feels productive and revision that works.
Then they build the plan. Subject by subject, for the whole of half term. By the time they log off, it exists on paper, not only in their head.
Halfway through, there's a live challenge: the same retrieval practice I use with students who go on to get the grades they were capable of all along. They'll try it for real, not watch someone else do it.
Hi, I'm Kate
I read Biology at Oxford, I'm an active examiner, and I've spent fifteen years teaching inside top UK schools, including Brighton College.
Most of the students I work with aren't short on ability. They're short on a plan they trust.
What they'll leave with
- A written plan covering every subject, including the ones they'd rather avoid
- A way to tell which topics need the time this half term
- One revision technique they've done live, rather than read about
- A copy to keep, edit, and follow
Who it's for
GCSE and A-level students, roughly Years 10 to 13. Especially useful if they revise for hours but aren't sure it's working, or keep avoiding the subject they find hardest.
A word for you
You don't need to sit over their shoulder for this one. Book them in, then get half term back for yourself.
This carries the StudyFest name because it works the same way. Methods you try live, not read about. The full version runs three days in Brighton and two in London this February.
The details
Monday 26 October, 10:00โ11:30am, live on Zoom. Free, but numbers are capped so everyone gets proper support during the live challenge.
